Neo´s L4D Launchers give many options to both modders and gamers, and so they are a portal to all L4D stuff:
 -starting the game:
     Hosting a map (original and mod maps, also mutation game modes in L4D2)
    Connect to a server
    Set L4D1+2 settings for both steam and steamless version
 -modding
    open L4D1+2 folder to add mod contents
    open L4D1+2 SDK Launcher

Special Features
 -saves most Settings (all except the last hosted map):
    last server you connected to
    everything you can find under "Settings"
    if you hosted a LAN-only server
    The difficulty you selected when hosting the last time
 -free editing of the map list
    you can simply modify the whole map list. So you can
    add custom maps, put them together as a new 
    campaign and rename them.
-100% portable
-Easy to put into a mod installation (see 'Developers' in the ReadMe File)
