Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 Launchers (v1.6)

First, just save a launcher into some directory (e.g. your desktop):

Left 4 Dead 1 Launcher: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8192972/NeosL4DLauncher/L4D1/NeosLauncher.exe
Left 4 Dead 2 Launcher: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8192972/NeosL4DLauncher/L4D2/NeosLauncher.exe

To install the Launcher, do the following:

If you don't have Windows Vista or Windows 7 with activated User Account Control,
 -put NeosLauncher.exe into the same folder as your hl2.exe or left4dead.exe or left4dead2.exe

If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 with activated User Account Control,
-put NeosLauncher.exe into some folder outside the 'Program Files' or 'Program Files (x86)' folder.
-Please mention that NeosLauncher.exe will create lots of files in it's folder.
-Maybe, the Updater needs admin rights to launch. I'll fix that.

Use this exe as the Desktop Shortcut for the Game.
When you start the launcher the first time, it will automatically create all files it needs in it´s folder (If the files do not already exist).
When you launch it the first time, you will be asked to do the advanced settings (later you will find them in SetUp->Advanced).

Make sure that the game exe set in the settings box is the right one.

Now, enjoy the game!





 IMPORTANT (when upgrading the L4D2 Launcher from below v1.4)

To get the maps of the new campaign "The Passing", follow these steps
-go to SetUp -> Map List Editor
-go to the first game mode
-click "Reset original maps"
-repeat this for all game modes.

If this doesn't work, try this:
-export all your custom maps
-click "open L4D2 folder"
-close the launcher
-execute the "NeosLauncher_Maplist_Reset.bat" file by doubleclicking on it
-start the launcher
-import all the saved custom maps
